New member of the VEGDOG herd

We at VEGDOG are very proud that our work can help animals in need. Founder Tessa has dreamed since she was a child of being able to give animals a life worth living and appropriate to their species, and she can fulfill this dream bit by bit with her company.

22 rescued sheep now live in a herd on extensive meadows on Lake Ammersee, are lovingly cared for and are allowed to enjoy their lives. Brand new in the VEGDOG herd: Pony Pepsi!

The discarded former fairground pony was passed around, carted around and exploited throughout its life. A happy pony life looks different!

Pepsi suffered in silence. He endured years of hellish torture and no one saw him or listened to him. When Pepsi came to us, he could hardly eat, his skin was infested with parasites and a series of veterinary treatments began. Due to the poor conditions, the pony suffers from equine asthma, a chronic lung disease.

Thanks to the life-saving dental treatment, Pepsi can eat again and enjoy his life with our sheep and another pony. And just be a pony!

Petra, the founder and chairwoman of the Lebenshof Hohenwart eV association, was able to fulfill a lifelong dream with the farm. Since her youth, she - like VEGDOG founder Tessa - has had the vision of wanting to help animals in need.

Now she gives former so-called farm animals and animals from poor conditions a species-appropriate and use-free home.

On their farm in the Bavarian Alpine foothills near the Lech, Petra and her husband manage the animal stables and over 24 hectares of land that are used as pasture and for feed production. Another stable compartment is to be created for the winter and an open stable is to be added to optimize the pigs' exercise area.
