Hello, I'm Lou and I'm happy to tell you my story.

I was born in Bulgaria in early 2020. I spent the first few months there on the streets with my brother Buddy, living off leftovers and garbage.

But two nice ladies found us at Easter 2020 and gave us a temporary home. This is where we met VEGDOG Finn , as he moved in with us a short time later. We got on really well right away!

Our foster home paid for the food and vaccinations themselves, as animal welfare is their top priority. They only accept donations to pay for food, harnesses and transport costs. The three of us were given sensitive food, by the way, because Finn got diarrhea from other food. But we liked it! Anyway, anything is better than what we found on the street.

We were in the best and most loving hands there and are very grateful that we were so well looked after and given a second chance.

Buddy, Finn and I all found a family in Germany - even initially in Augsburg! So we were able to remain friends. However, the departure to Germany was very delayed because of Corona, as the borders were closed.

But on July 19, 2020, the time had finally come: a couple brought Finn and me, fully vaccinated, chipped and equipped with our passports, by car to Germany - it was exciting! There I met my human: My Nadja! A new phase of life began for us.

Today, however, Nadja and I live in Munich. But so do Finn and Annika, so we can still go for walks together regularly – Finn and I think that’s great!

Admittedly, I didn't make it easy for Nadja. I was very scared, especially around men. Even going for walks was a challenge, as I was very scared of almost everything and would run away; I couldn't even be caught in the garden.

I simply had great difficulty gaining trust. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell Nadja exactly what had happened to me on the streets when I was younger.

But Nadja was sooo patient with me and after just a few months I was a new dog: curious and bright - just like a young dog should be. And Nadja and I have become a great team and I now trust her blindly!

My fear of people (even men!) has gone and now I love being stroked and cuddled. Especially by Finn's mom Annika - I really like her! I'm so happy for Finn that he was as lucky as I was to find such a wonderful home!

Even though the lockdown brought some challenges for many people, it was great for me because Nadja wrote her master's thesis during that time and we were able to be together day in and day out. That's why we are simply inseparable today!

In the spring of 2021, I unfortunately developed very unpleasant skin problems. Everything itched and I scratched my front and back legs. Unfortunately, that didn't help, so I licked a lot. My skin became dry, red and bald. You can probably imagine how unpleasant that was. And it looked stupid too.

Since it wasn't getting better, Nadja had me examined by a vet. It was suspected that I was allergic to grass. Nadja was skeptical, however, since there was no improvement and the symptoms hadn't appeared the previous year. So I was given tablets for the itching. These did help, but as soon as Nadja stopped taking them, the symptoms came back.

At a second visit to the vet, an allergy was diagnosed. I was given an allergy shot and the vet recommended switching to food for allergy sufferers. So Nadja tried this type of food.

Through contact with Annika, who is responsible for the cool design at VEGDOG, Nadja came up with the GREEN CRUNCH and I just love it. It's irresistible, especially with a dash of oat milk!

Nadja assumes that the food plays a very big role. Because as soon as I eat something different, I immediately start licking again and the red spots come back.
That's why Nadja has now ordered GREEN CRUNCH for all the households I stay in, so that I can eat anywhere without any problems. Isn't she great?

By the way, I also love the BEEVYS and JERKEYS - they smell unbelievably good. They always drive me crazy and I almost bite Nadja's fingers off. By accident, of course!

How jealous I am of Finn that he is at the source and is always allowed to test new products – who knows, maybe I’ll be allowed to too?

By the way, Nadja would also like to say something:

“Thanks to the great food, Lou can now develop without any problems. I love her very much and she enriches every day. It was absolutely the right decision to adopt her! I can only recommend it to everyone.”
