IT'S NOT JUST WHAT'S INSIDE THAT COUNTS - OUR PACKAGING IN CHECK
It is well known that our products contain high-quality, healthy and tasty recipes. But what's the point? We have looked closely at our packaging and consciously decided on the respective type.Β

We offer our wet food in cans. We chose this because their magnetic properties make them easy to recycle . They can be filtered out of the waste by machines and fed into the recycling cycle. The weight of the can is also impressive: compared to glass, it is significantly lighter and therefore produces less CO2 during transport. Another argument against glass is the quartz sand required, as its extraction involves major interference with nature. It is important that you dispose of the empty can in the yellow bin after use to make recycling easier.
As an absolute innovation, we recently added another ADULT recipe in Tetra Pak to our range. The Tetra Pak saves 91% CO2 compared to conventional packaging . This is mainly due to its practical shape and low weight. This means that the Tetra Pak can be transported very efficiently . In addition, the Tetra Pak is made of 70% renewable raw materials (FSC-certified) and is over 75% recyclable if it is disposed of in the yellow bin . When folded up, the empty Tetra Pak takes up practically no space. This means that the Tetra Pak performs 5x better ecologically than tinplate and glass.
The Tetra Pak not only leaves a green paw print, it is also very easy to handle: it can be easily opened and closed again without a lid or anything similar. There is also virtually no risk of injury.
We are very proud that we have found a way to pack our dry food in a paper bag. The high fat content presented us with a challenge. Four layers of paper are necessary to ensure the high quality of our food and to prevent it from becoming greasy. When the bag is empty, you can dispose of it in the paper bin .
We now pack our snacks in a plastic bag. For our snacks, it was essential to choose packaging that was airtight. This should guarantee a longer shelf life and protect them from drying out. We deliberately chose pure plastic packaging. Many manufacturers even use composite packaging for snacks, which initially appears to be more sustainable. However, because several materials are combined, they are difficult or impossible to recycle. So if you dispose of our empty snack packaging in the yellow bin, they are 100% recyclable! By using recycled plastic, around 80% CO2 can be saved.
Our oil blend VISH OIL comes in a glass bottle. When it is empty, dispose of the cap in the yellow bin and take the bottle to the glass recycling container .
We currently offer our ALL-IN-VELUXE mineral powder in a composite container. In the long term, the aim is to use pure plastic packaging for this as well. However, since it is very important to ensure that the mineral powder is packaged in an airtight and light-tight manner , we are still researching the optimal solution. Minerals and vitamins are very sensitive and, in the end , quality standards are our highest priority .
However, we have increased the content of the can and thus improved the carbon footprint.
As you have probably figured out, it is not only crucial that we as manufacturers consciously choose the right packaging. It is also crucial to dispose of the packaging correctly after use so that it can be returned to the recycling cycle in the best possible way. And this is where you come in: On our products we show how the packaging must be disposed of correctly after use. Because waste is more than just waste! There are still resources behind it that need to be used in the best possible way. Let's do this together!
We will continue to search for packaging for our products that combines sustainability and quality assurance . To achieve this, we question existing concepts and develop and test innovations such as our Tetra Pak .
By the way, a great alternative to disposal is upcycling . You can also make all sorts of great things from our empty packaging. Check out our YouTube channel and get inspired!
